When pearls are sewn on the lace it is called Rosaline Perlée.
This figure above shows the method I prefer to create the pearls. Remove the thickest needle to make the buttonhole stitches. The thinnest needle in a vise or cork may be more convinient. The specifications give a ring without a hole of ± 4mm=1/6". Vary threadsize, needlesize (or other sticks) and number of windings for other size of pearls. Make notes.
Try the tension needed for the buttonhole stitches. The tighter the shinier, but loosen when getting the effect shown above.
